Basically im going to give you a bit of insight into the MMORPG 'World of Warcraft' which I and a few of my friends are involved in.
For starters heres a screenshot of the character selection screen so you know what im talking about in the next segment.
In the game there are 2 distinct factions Horde + Alliance - they are well warring so if you see a person on the opposing faction you can kill them - or be killed.
The 2 factions are divided into 10 races - 12 shortly with a new expansion being released December 7th.
Alliance : Human/Dwarf/Gnome/Night Elf/Dranei with Worgan coming out shortly.
Horde: Orc/Troll/Tauren/Undead/Blood Elf with Goblins being released soon.
These 10 races, are then split up into 9 classes:
Warriors/Death Knights/Paladins/Hunters/Shamans/Rogues/Druids/Priests/Mages/Warlocks
Each class brings a different beneficial ability to a raid (group of people killing a boss) so each class is as important as the last.
These 9 classes can then be divided again into categories of :
Tanks (People who hold the bosses threat - tank all the damage have high amounts of health)
Healers which restore peoples health when they take damage.
And DPS (Damage per second) who kill the opponents.
Each class has 3 specialisations (specs)they can put talent points into (1 talent point being given for every 2 levels your character advances). Each spec gives benefits for different things i.e For paladins they can choose to be either a Tank/Healer/DPS where as a rogue can only choose from 3 variations of DPS specs - however you'd use a diffrent type of weapon / play style.
Now if i havent confused you enough already about the basic classes etc. Heres a link to a short cinematic for the next Expansion ; World of Warcraft Cataclysm.
In the game - there are guilds, being a group of people which consistently raid together to down bosses etc. The better guilds (more progressed) have access to better loot (gear your character uses which enhances its stats (health/damage/healing) and cooler things such as rare mounts (mounts being an animal you ride which increases your move speed).
In the game in currently in the top guild - although my ranks 'FRIENDRANKLOL' because currently i do not wish to raid as its too time consuming.
The guild im currently in is Gigantor and there websites pretty professional - them being the top guild on the server.

As you can see they have screenshots of boss kills, there own forums for recruiting people/ members discussion etc etc.

I play a Human female rogue 'Whamu' , been playing for a couple years now so im pretty good at the game.
